Planning Made Easy

Taking the time to utilize scheduling will make a major impact on your productivity and how you feel throughout the day. Here is an easy and practical system that you can use for planning.

On either Saturday or Sunday plan out your week. Decide on the 1-3 most important things that you want to accomplish this week. What will really move the needle in your business or personal life? Write these down. Then plan out each day in terms of what you want to focus on. Make sure you are giving enough time to your major tasks for the week. At least half of your time should be going to these major tasks that will move your business forward.

Then either the night before or in the morning before work, plan our your day specifically. Break it down for the order that you will do the tasks and how long each of them will take. Be sure to give yourself enough time to complete the tasks. Also, schedule in time for breaks.

3 important points:

*Have certain days each week that you will focus on a certain task. For instance every Friday I will plan out and create my social media content. Yours may be a certain day you will make calls to find new clients. That doesn't mean on other days you can't do this task but on this certain day you are donating a significant block of time for it.

*Think about when you are at your best during the day. Is this morning, afternoon or night? Plan the items that require the most critical thinking during these times when you are at your best.

*Plan out times or days that you will be off from work. Make sure to honor these times.
