My Experience and Lessons from a Tony Robbins Event

I’ve followed Tony Robbins for years. He is one of the first people that I started to learn from when I began my self-development journey in my early 20s. I decided to finally go to one of his events in March of 2020. Then the pandemic happened and it got canceled. I then booked one of his online events in 2021 and there was an issue with the payment and it didn’t work out. So I finally made it to one of his virtual events this weekend, Unleash the Power Within. Third times a charm!

Here are some of my pros and cons from the experience.

Pros:

*The energy in the event, even in a virtual setting is unbelievable! It is constantly getting up and moving, the speakers bring a ton of energy, and you can feel the excitement from the other participants.

*There is lots of wisdom and knowledge that is shared throughout the 4-day event. This information is practical, clearly presented, and is actionable.

*Tony is a world-class speaker and he brings in other great speakers as well. The lessons and stories that they tell are impactful and interesting.

*You are able to make significant shifts to your mindset, energy, and commit to decisions going forward that will make a lasting difference.

Cons:

*There was a lot of selling for other events. I knew this going in but there was even more than I expected. There would be breaks where people could ask questions or sign up for these other events and you didn’t know how long the breaks would be.

Lessons: Now let’s take a look at what I learned, was reminded of, and key takeaway from this event. There were about 30 pages of notes that I took and I will share some of the main ones.

- Get yourself in a peak or beautiful state - There are a lot of different ways to get yourself in this, here are a few: use your body, anchor a movement, use your voice, imagine past and future successes, and fill yourself with gratitude. Using your body is key for this! The biggest decision we make is to get ourselves in this beautiful state.

- Remove limiting beliefs and create empowering beliefs. This is something that I already taught but it expanded my knowledge on it. One thing is to allow yourself to feel the pain of inaction and the consequence of living with these limiting beliefs. Then use your body and peak state to embody the new beliefs. Associate as much pleasure and joy to these new beliefs.

- Knowledge is potential power, execution is power.

- The number one thing holding us back is fear.

- In public speaking focus on serving people, get outside of yourself.

- 3 Patterns that create any emotion are your physiology, your focus, and your language/meaning.

- Ultimate success formula

  1. Know your outcome

  2. Know your why

  3. Take massive action

  4. Know what you are getting - check-in to see your results

  5. Change your approach - keep changing until you get results

- Your decisions shape your life. For decisions: decide, commit, resolve, express gratitude. Take immediate action on it.

- Celebrate your small wins daily.

- Raise your standards by changing your “shoulds” to “musts.”

This event reminded me of the importance of taking courses, doing coaching, and working on yourself. I encourage you to put time on your calendar for doing a course or getting coaching.
