Removing Limiting Beliefs

One of the major things that can hold you back from achieving your goals and living the life that you deserve is limiting beliefs. You may be aware of these limiting beliefs or you may not even realize that you have them. Here is a 5 step process that you can use to help you get rid of them and replace it with a belief that serves you!

#1 - Identify the limiting belief. You can identify them by asking yourself, “What limiting beliefs do I have?” Sit with this question and write down whatever arises. Or think about your goals and see what thoughts arise that are not serving you.

#2 - Question the limiting belief. Is this true? Where did it come from? Is this serving me?

#3 - Create a new belief that serves you and helps you live the life that you want to live. What is a belief that I can develop that will empower me to reach my goals?

#4 - Make a list of evidence to support your new belief. Come up with all the reasons that you believe this to be true. Write this list down.

#5 - Reinforce your new belief. A few ways that you can reinforce it are to use affirmations, practice gratitude, use visuals by putting it on the wall or places that you will consistently see it, and to look for things throughout the day that support this new belief.

In order to change your beliefs you need to be intentional about it. I have been working on changing my own limiting beliefs in my life. The one thing that I can say is that it is certainly worth the time and energy that it takes!
