End of the Year Reflecting and Planning

One of my favorite things to do at this time of the year is to reflect and plan! It's a great time to do this as you may have some time off from work and before you get into the new year.

For the past few years, I have asked myself 5 important questions to make this happen.

#1 What were my highlights from this past year?

#2 What lessons did I learn from this past year?

#3 What do I want to accomplish in 2022?

#4 What am I currently doing that I need to keep doing to make this happen?

#5 What do I need to change to make this happen?

I will sit down and write these questions down in my journal and take 1-2 hours to answer them.

After I answer these questions, I will set goals for the upcoming year. I first set yearly goals and then goals for 3-4 months out. You can decide how many goals you want to set. I recommend 1-3 for both the yearly and quarterly goals. Less is more with this!

Once I have set my goals then I will choose my word of the year. The word of the year is what I want to be intentional about focusing on for this year. In 2019 it was discipline, 2020 was self-love, and 2021 was present. I am still deciding on this year's word and will let you know soon. Stay tuned!

The last thing that I do is create my vision board. I make sure to incorporate my goals, word of the year, and any key points from the questions that I answered while putting this together. To create the vision board I have a poster board where I put pictures from magazines, printouts, and written words that I want to accomplish and bring into my life for the upcoming year. I look at this vision board daily in order to keep it on the top of my mind.

While this process may seem like a lot it is setting me up for a successful upcoming year! It is helping me learn from this past year and gain clarity for what I want to achieve for the upcoming year.

Make this process your own. Feel free to change up the questions or take certain parts of what I have mentioned above.

Best of luck in the upcoming year and enjoy the holidays!
