5 Things to Make Time For

When you are scheduling out your week you want to be proactive in putting on items that will move you forward. Not just putting on things that you have to do.

Here are 5 things that will take your life to the next level if you do them weekly. Some of them it is helpful to do a few times per week.

1️⃣ Self development - Block off at least an hour each week for personal development. This may be reading, listening to a podcast, watching a video, doing a course, meditating, etc.

2️⃣ Professional development - Continue to read and learn about your field or learn a new skill within it. This is about staying up to date and on the cutting edge of your industry. Most people don’t do this and it will be a separator.

3️⃣ Time to sit and think - Take time to do nothing but sit and think each week. You may use it to think about your career, personal life or anything else that is pressing for you. This is great for clarity, creativity and feeling more organized.

4️⃣ Physical activity - Doing physical activity is something you want to do a few times per week. This will create energy, keep you healthy and keep your mind sharp. The mind and body are very connected!

5️⃣ Socializing - Make time for your friends and family to relax and socialize with. Social support system is the number one indicator of happiness according to The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor.

In order to make time for these 5 things you need to put it on the schedule. I recommend doing this on Saturday or Sunday for the upcoming week. You can do these at the same time each week as well.
